Step 1 - Keyword research
The first step in optimizing your website for search engines is to determine what keywords are relevant to your business. After I've determined a couple dozen relevant keywords, I will research, which of these keywords has the potential to generate the most traffic to your website. Using this data I'll narrow down the number of relevant keywords to a handful.
Step 2 - Meta tags
Meta tags are snippets of code that help your website communicate with search engines such as Google. They summarize the content of your website in a structured format that is easy for search engines to analyze. By inserting the relevant keywords determined in step 1 into your meta tags we show search engines that those keywords are relevant to your company. The simpler it is for search engines to analyze your website the more likely you are to show up in search results.
Step 3 - Optimize the content of your website
Search engines appreciate it when you provide meta tags, but they still want to make sure that your meta tags accurately reflect the content of your website. I will edit the content of your website and make sure that the relevant keywords determined in step 1 are frequently present in your content. If the content of your website and the meta tags both contain the same keywords, this is when you will notice the best results.
